“Two Bits” from my novel The Poet’s Secret will be featured in the next issue of Kelp – Surf Aesthetic Defined. The Kelp editors ultimately opted for “Two Bits” over “Sea Bird.” I am stoked with that choice since “Two Bits” is the first excerpt from The Poet’s Secret to surface into publication. Only two days earlier I had learned The Poet’s Secret did not make the final round in the Whidbey Emerging Writers Contest. But then the Kelp editors called and even shared the proposed art spread featuring “Two Bits.” It is stunning. What a sweet, sweet wave. Stay tuned for the issue date.
